Driving SAVI’s Mission:
At SAVI, our Board of Directors plays an indispensable role in shaping our organization’s future. Through their strategic guidance, dedication, and expertise, they contribute significantly to our mission of empowering Veterans and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Provide strategic oversight and guidance to align SAVI’s initiatives with its mission and vision.
- Contribute a minimum of 3-6 hours per month to board activities, contingent on current initiatives.
- Lead or co-lead at least one board committee, demonstrating active involvement in key areas.
Governance and Oversight:
- Attend quarterly board meetings (minimum frequency) to ensure effective decision-making and accountability.
- Oversee the implementation of strategic plans and monitor progress against established goals.
- Contribute to a culture of excellence and transparency within the organization.
Financial Stewardship:
- Adhere to the minimum give/get contribution policy, demonstrating financial commitment to SAVI’s mission.
- Support fundraising efforts and ensure responsible financial management.
- Contribute to the development and oversight of SAVI’s budget.
Community Engagement:
- Represent SAVI in the community and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Leverage personal and professional networks to advance SAVI’s goals.
- Participate in SAVI’s events and activities as appropriate.
Expectations for Board Members:
- Strategic Thinking: Contribute innovative ideas and perspectives to drive SAVI’s growth and impact.
- Commitment: Demonstrate a strong commitment to SAVI’s mission and values.
- Leadership: Take ownership of responsibilities and inspire others to achieve common goals.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with fellow board members, staff, and volunteers.
