Equip your team to guide Veterans through federal benefits

SAVI Benefitsâ„  is SAVI's training program for organizations that serve Veterans. It gives your staff and volunteers accurate, current federal benefits knowledge, delivered by an organization that has reached more than 34,000 military-affiliated people with benefits education since 2017.

Who it is for

  • Veteran service organizations that want every staff member and volunteer giving the same accurate answers.

  • Claims representatives who want a stronger foundation across the full range of federal benefits, not only compensation.

  • GI Bill-approved schools and institutions that guide student Veterans through the education benefits they earned.

  • Employers with Veteran employees who need someone in-house who understands their benefits.

  • Community leaders and advocates who field Veterans' questions and want to point them in the right direction.

The Veteran Benefits Representative (VBR) Certification program

The VBR Certification program is the core credential within SAVI Benefits. Participants learn how federal benefits work across compensation, healthcare, education, housing, and survivor benefits; the deadlines tied to a Veteran's separation date; and when and how to refer a Veteran to an accredited representative.

Format, levels, and options for your organization are shared on request.

What the VBR Certificate is, and is not

The VBR Certificate shows that its holder has completed SAVI's federal benefits education program. It is not accreditation by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Only the Department accredits individuals to prepare, present, or prosecute claims, and VBR Certificate holders refer Veterans to an accredited representative for that work.

Why SAVI

SAVI's curriculum comes from inside the system. Our founder, Dr. Adrianne Phillips, spent 18 years in Veteran services, including work as a federal benefits adjudicator and lead trainer, before founding SAVI in 2017. Every graduate of our flagship Veteran program has been awarded a primary federal benefit.
